Regional celebrations and awards honor educators for World Teachers' Day

Various regional celebrations and recognitions were held in honor of World Teachers' Day. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bojana Zgonjanin, a teacher from the ‘Majka Knežopoljka’ elementary school in Knežica, was awarded the ‘Isaija Mitrović’ prize. This award, presented by the Teachers' Society of Republika Srpska during the ‘Teachers' Days 2026’ event in Bijeljina, recognizes her dedication and professional work in the Prijedor region.

In Croatia, the Sisak-Moslavina County organized a gathering for approximately 550 educators and school staff. County Prefect Ivan Celjak attended the event to express gratitude for the role teachers play in shaping future generations. The county also highlighted ongoing investments in educational infrastructure, including the renovation of schools in Sisak, Petrinja, and Mošćenica, as well as ongoing projects in Glina and Velika Ludina.
