Regional commemorations and exhibitions held in Serbia and Croatia
Various regional commemorations and cultural events are taking place in Serbia and Croatia. In Zrenjanin, the National Museum will host the exhibition ‘War Heroines’ on October 2, 2026. Curated by Biljana Marcojević from the Museum of Victims of Genocide, the exhibition uses archival materials, personal stories, and photographs to honor women who participated in resistance and suffered during World War II.
In Croatia, several ceremonies were held to honor victims of the Homeland War. In Glinska Poljana, a tribute was paid to Croatian defenders and civilian victims at the ‘Broken Dove’ mass grave memorial. Additionally, the Municipality of Majur celebrated its municipal day with wreath-laying ceremonies at war memorials and a formal council session attended by regional officials, including Sisak-Moslavina County Prefect Ivan Celjak and Petrinja Deputy Mayor Tea Rambovsek Aleksić.
