Regional development and diplomacy forums scheduled in Nariño

The department of Nariño, Colombia, will host several events focused on economic competitiveness and international relations. The “Nariño Competitivo 2026” forum is scheduled for October 29 and 30 at the Hotel Morasurco in Pasto. This event aims to foster innovation and business development through partnerships involving Colombia Compite, the Universidad del Rosario, and local government entities.

Additionally, the forum “Subnational and Emerging Diplomacies: New actors, knowledge, and connections from Nariño to the world” will take place in Pasto on October 30. Organized by the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Augusto Ramírez Ocampo Diplomatic Academy, and Universidad Mariana, the forum explores how regional territories can build strategic international connections, access cooperation opportunities, and leverage their border status for development. Topics include subnational diplomacy, territorial legal diplomacy, feminist foreign policy, and international cooperation.
