Regional development initiatives launched in Burkina Faso and Senegal

In Burkina Faso, the humanitarian NGO DIRECT-AID has invested approximately 50 million FCFA to promote economic empowerment in the Tanghin district of Ouagadougou. The initiative includes the donation of livestock, such as 30 dairy cows with calves, 300 goats, and 75 bucks, alongside Apsonic tricycles and various technical equipment for production and mechanics. Beneficiaries will also receive training in entrepreneurship and technical skills to ensure the sustainability of these income-generating activities.

In Senegal, several infrastructure projects are underway to boost local economies. In Pire, Minister Moussa Bala Fofana laid the foundation stone for a three-story Maison des Hôtes. Spanning over 840 square meters, this facility is part of the National Program for the Development and Modernization of Religious Cities (PNAMVR) and aims to improve reception capacities for pilgrims and officials during the annual Gamou.

Additionally, in Kolda, Mayor Mame Boye Diao inaugurated two new facilities in the Nouvelle Ville area. These include a slaughterhouse valued at 24 million FCFA, funded through PACASEN, and a local product transformation hub worth approximately 84 million FCFA, developed with PADER II. The projects are designed to support the meat industry and empower women through the processing and commercialization of local goods.
