Regional developments in Congolese sports and agriculture

The Congolese Mini-Football Association (FECOMISA) has announced plans to expand the sport across the Democratic Republic of the Congo. President Béni Gaston Mbenga detailed the organization's ambitions during a press conference in Kinshasa, ahead of a 5-a-side mini-football tournament scheduled for August 22 to 29 at the Cercle libanais. The tournament will feature eight teams across male and female categories.

FECOMISA aims to use these competitions to scout talent for national representation. The federation has already established a presence in Kinshasa, Kongo Central, Grand Kasaï, and Haut-Katanga, with plans to expand into Lualaba and other provinces to ensure regular competition.

In the Republic of the Congo, the second edition of the Grande foire agricole du Congo (G.f.a.c) recently concluded. Held at the Bambou-Mingali exhibition park, the event featured departmental days highlighting agricultural production and transformation. A dedicated day for the Pool Department showcased local products and agricultural dynamism, marking what Minister of State Alphonse Claude N’Silou described as a renaissance for the region's agricultural vocation.
