Republic of the Congo economic and infrastructure efforts
Overview
The Republic of the Congo is pursuing economic diversification through sustainable tourism and infrastructure development. The international NGO Cercle des élites en voyage, tourisme et environnement (CEVTE) has opened a representative office in Pointe-Noire and the Kouilou department to promote ecotourism and protect local ecosystems.
Additionally, the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) is providing financing for infrastructure projects connecting Pointe-Noire and Brazzaville. These projects aim to improve mobility and access to services while adhering to climate commitments and the Paris Agreement through CO2 emission monitoring and environmental compensation measures.
