Croatia hosts various cultural festivals and film premieres

Croatia is hosting a series of diverse cultural festivals and premieres across various cities.

At the Rab Film Festival, the documentary ‘Vjesnik – Posljednje izdanje’ premiered, chronicling the rise and fall of the iconic publishing house and its landmark skyscraper. The festival also features discussions on journalism and international documentary screenings, including the Belgian film ‘Mariinka’.

In Zagreb, the 4th Zagreb Opera Festival is set to take place from September 11 to 20, 2026, featuring over 30 events and international artists, including a gala concert by Piotr Beczała.

Other notable events include the 24th Liburnia Film Festival in Opatija, which focuses on themes of societal militarization, and the 11th Rab Jazz Festival, which brings together Grammy winners and New York jazz elites. Additionally, the Interaction Festival in Požega has launched its DocuConnect Balkans program to support regional documentary projects, while Špancirfest in Varaždin continues its multi-day program of music, theater, and street performances.
