Regional food fairs launch in Kumamoto and Hiroshima

From July 27 to August 3, 2026, Sakura MACHI Kumamoto will host an eight‑day pop‑up shop in its underground event space, offering fresh‑made doughnuts filled with custard, whipped cream or chocolate, as well as egg‑based items such as egg sandwiches, egg pudding and special egg products sourced from the farm’s own "Momiji" chickens.

Between July 18 and July 26, 2026, Sogo Hiroshima’s 9th‑floor event hall will hold an "Antenna Shop Fair" featuring specialty foods from eleven Japanese regions. Highlights include Kanagawa’s Daishi Maki (salt and soy‑sauce versions), Ehime’s frozen Mont‑blanc dorayaki, Miyagi’s Hagi no Tsuki sweets, Iwate’s Kamome no Tamago, and Kumamoto’s Taihei‑en white‑broth ramen, among other localized treats. Both events operate on limited‑quantity sales and set specific opening hours.
