Regional governments announce new financial support programs for families
The Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska has announced a project to provide financial support for parents whose children use after-school care in private preschool institutions. Running from September 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, the program offers 200 KM monthly per child for students in grades one through three. The initiative, managed through the Public Fund for Child Protection, has a total budget of 1.2 million KM. Parents must submit applications within 30 days of enrollment, with a special deadline of October 1, 2026, for children already enrolled.
In Croatia, the Ministry of Demography and Emigration, in collaboration with the Foundation ‘Croatia for Children’, is launching a pilot program to subsidize the purchase of vehicles with seven or more seats. Aimed at families with four or more biological or adopted children, the program covers 50 percent of the vehicle's value, up to a maximum of 15,000 EUR. The pilot program has an allocated budget of 2.2 million EUR and applies to both new and used vehicles. Detailed terms, documentation requirements, and application procedures are expected to be released in September 2026.
