Mental health and suicide prevention initiatives launched globally
Various regions are implementing initiatives to address mental health and suicide prevention. In Argentina, Neuquén is hosting a congress specifically for security forces and firefighters to improve early detection and intervention. In Tucumán, a community day focused on cerebral health and neurodegenerative diseases was held.
In Mexico, health professionals received training on managing suicidal risk, anxiety, and depression. Meanwhile, in Spain, educational centers are using documentaries and expert training to sensitize students and staff to the risks of suicide among adolescents.
In Chile, the Magallanes region certified 30 new Gatekeeper trainers to strengthen community-wide prevention networks. Additionally, in the Dominican Republic, psychologists are urging families to recognize behavioral warning signs such as social isolation and loss of interest in activities.
