Regional health initiatives expand medical access in Tamaulipas and Monagas

In Tamaulipas, Mexico, Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya has reported that the state has ranked first in the country for three consecutive years in surgical procedures supported by the Administration of the Public Beneficence Patrimony. The state has allocated over 216 million pesos toward health and social assistance, facilitating access to cataract surgeries, prosthetics, hearing aids, and specialized diagnostic equipment through coordination between federal, state, and municipal governments.

In Monagas, Venezuela, Governor Ernesto Luna implemented a comprehensive medical mission benefiting 230 residents of the Kariña indigenous community in the Ezequiel Zamora municipality. The initiative provided general medicine, physiotherapy, deworming, and various immunizations, including tetanus-diphtheria and yellow fever vaccines. Authorities also distributed medications for chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes, alongside antibiotics and vitamins.
