Regional health officials open new community health centers in Italy
A new Casa della Comunità was inaugurated in Cesano, north‑Rome, converting the former Ministry of Defence barracks into a health hub for the ASL Roma 1 district. The ceremony was attended by Lazio Region President Francesco Rocca and ASL Roma 1 director Giuseppe Quintavalle, marking the first such facility in the area and supporting the regional PNRR mission to expand local health services.
On a separate occasion, a Casa di comunità opened in Civitanova, adjoining the local poliambulatorio on Via Abruzzo. The centre provides chronic‑disease and frailty care, including cardiology and orthopaedics, a medical guard and spaces for patient‑association meetings. Regional health director Alessandro Marini, health director Daniela Corsi, Region President Francesco Acquaroli and health assessor Paolo Calcinaro highlighted the role of the centre in reducing emergency‑room overload and advancing the broader Italian health‑care reform.
Both openings aim to improve access to specialist and chronic‑care services outside hospitals, strengthening regional health networks across Italy.
