Regional health services conduct surgical operations in Zulia and Chiloé

Regional health services in Zulia, Venezuela, and Chiloé, Chile, have conducted surgical operations to address patient needs and reduce waiting lists.

In Zulia, the National Surgical Plan facilitated 214 procedures over one week across various hospitals. The interventions included 103 general surgeries, 49 gynecological procedures, 40 ophthalmology cases, 14 pediatric surgeries, and eight traumatology procedures. These actions were carried out in several public health facilities, including the Autonomous Service of the University Hospital of Maracaibo.

In the Chiloé province of Chile, the Chiloé Health Service and Capredena collaborated on a surgical operation at the Castro Hospital. This initiative focused on treating 33 patients for varicose veins. This marks the second such operation in 2026, following a previous session in May, bringing the total number of beneficiaries for this specific procedure to approximately 70 this year.
