Various healthcare facilities across the Balkans are undergoing significant upgrades through renovations, donations, and new construction projects.
In Croatia, the Neuropsihijatrijska bolnica dr. Ivan Barbot Popovača is nearing the end of an 8.5 million euro energy renovation cycle, covering eight buildings to reduce costs and improve patient conditions. Additionally, Psihijatrijska bolnica Ugljan has launched a project to build a new hospital complex, starting with a technical block phase.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Dr Mladen Stojanović Hospital has issued a tender for its reconstruction and modernization, which includes the addition of a new annex to ensure continued service during construction.
In Montenegro, the Opšta Bolnica Bar received a donation exceeding 20,000 euros from local businessmen to upgrade hospital furniture and equipment for the emergency and neurology departments.
In Serbia, the “Military Doctor in the Village” initiative was implemented in Rastina near Sombor. This civil-military cooperation project, involving the Serbian Army and the Red Cross, provides preventive medical exams and health counseling to residents in remote areas.
