Regional initiatives promote animal welfare and pet-related storytelling

In Las Heras, Argentina, the municipality has launched a responsible adoption platform for dogs and cats. Developed in collaboration with local neighbors and the animal protection organization Moproa, the digital tool aims to connect rescued or abused animals with permanent homes. The platform features a catalog with photographs and histories, and includes a follow-up process managed by volunteers to ensure the well-being of the animals after adoption.

In Colombia, Parque Explora and the Promotora Cultural de Antioquia have announced a short story competition centered on the relationship between humans and pets. Open to participants across the country, the contest invites people to write original stories about dogs and cats, whether based on real experiences or fiction. The competition is divided into four age categories and is part of the ‘Perros y gatos’ exhibition.
