Regional recycling initiatives launched in Bolivia and Spain

Various regional recycling initiatives have been launched to promote environmental awareness and the circular economy.

In Bolivia, Empacar and Fexpocruz have renewed the ‘Eco Entrada’ program for Expocruz 2026. This initiative allows citizens to exchange recyclable materials for event access. Participants can trade 10 kilograms of clean corrugated cardboard, 5 kilograms of PET bottles, or 2 kilograms of empty cans for entry to the fair on specific dates in September. The program aims to highlight the value of daily materials and the essential role of waste collectors.

In Spain, the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has introduced the ‘Muy nuestro’ campaign. Developed in collaboration with Ecoembes and the Fundación Canaria para el Reciclaje y el Desarrollo Sostenible, the project focuses on improving waste separation. The campaign will utilize information stands, environmental patrols, workshops, and talks across various districts to encourage the correct use of yellow and blue recycling containers, specifically targeting plastic packaging, cans, and cartons.
