Regional reforestation campaigns target thousands of new plants

Various regional reforestation campaigns are underway to combat climate change and desertification. In the Guinguinéo department, authorities have launched a campaign targeting the planting of 6,000 trees across 12 municipalities to strengthen territorial resilience.

In Burkina Faso, local initiatives are also progressing. In Kelbo, the detachment chief led the planting of 150 trees, including moringa, neem, and baobab, at a local health center to help green the commune. Meanwhile, in Manga, the special delegation planted over 250 plants at a departmental high school as part of a national campaign. The commune of Manga has set an ambitious goal to mobilize at least 50,000 plants by the end of the 2026 reforestation period.
