Regional security and infrastructure initiatives launched in Chile, Argentina, and Mexico

Various regional authorities across Chile, Argentina, and Mexico are implementing localized security and infrastructure initiatives.

In Chile, Gendarmería officials in the O’Higgins Region held a coordination meeting to improve prison management and social reintegration. In the Coquimbo Region, the PDI emphasized the importance of citizen reports in identifying micro-trafficking hotspots, while the “Plan Calles Sin Violencia” targets violent crime in La Serena, Coquimbo, and Ovalle. Additionally, the “Quiero Mi Barrio” program in San Antonio provided emergency kits and training to community brigades in Llolleo Alto to enhance neighborhood response to disasters.

In Argentina, the city of Reconquista is advancing public works, including street lighting and road maintenance, to improve visibility and prepare for potential heavy rains associated with El Niño.

In Mexico, municipal security forces conducted preventive workshops at the CAM México 68 center to promote personal development and a culture of peace, while Ramos Arizpe has implemented street lighting upgrades to bolster local safety.
