Regional sports competitions prepare for upcoming provincial games in Indonesia

Preparations are underway for two major provincial sports weeks in Indonesia. In the Riau Islands, officials are coordinating security for the Porprov VI Kepri, with specific attention being paid to crocodile threats in the Dompak waters where rowing competitions will take place. The Tanjungpinang municipal government is also implementing the Regional Sports Data Information System (Sindora) and a Regional Sports Design (DOD) to improve athlete development and data management.

In Banten, preparations for Porprov VII are entering a critical phase ahead of the November 15–23, 2026, competition. The Banten KONI is conducting rigorous verification of athlete eligibility and facilities across eight regencies and cities. This year's event features an increase in competition, expanding from 45 to 60 sporting branches. Technical delegates have been appointed for each branch to ensure adherence to regulations and to manage technical requirements during the games.
