Regional sports competitions in Indonesia

Overview

In late September 2026, the Riau Provincial PGRI Sports, Arts, and Learning Week (PORSENIJAR) commenced in Siak Sri Indrapura. The event involved approximately 1,056 participants competing in 10 different sports branches to foster camaraderie and identify athletic potential among teachers.

By October 2026, preparations for other provincial games were underway in different regions. In the Riau Islands, officials coordinated security for the Porprov VI Kepri, addressing specific concerns such as crocodile threats in rowing competition waters and implementing new data management systems. Simultaneously, in Banten, preparations for Porprov VII reached a critical phase, with the Banten KONI verifying athlete eligibility and expanding the competition from 45 to 60 sporting branches.
