Regional sports events in Spain promote inclusion and community
Various sporting events across Spain have recently focused on social inclusion and community engagement. In Moguer, the Andalusia Inclusive Basketball Championship was held at the Pabellón Platero, featuring teams from across the region. The event highlighted the collaboration between Club Baloncesto Ciudad de Moguer and the Asociación Abriendo Puertas to promote the autonomy and social integration of people with disabilities through sports.
In the Murcia region, the iSportFest 2026 event took place in Murcia and Cartagena, attracting over 100,000 participants. The festival offered more than 180 free activities across 70 different disciplines, including traditional sports and inclusive options such as wheelchair basketball, boccia, and adapted archery. The initiative, organized by the University of Murcia and the Union of Sports Federations of the Region of Murcia, also involved cooperation with entities from 12 European countries to promote healthy lifestyles and social equality.
