Montenegro delegation departs for Mediterranean Games in Taranto

Montenegro is preparing to participate in the 20th Mediterranean Games in Taranto, scheduled from August 21 to September 3. The Montenegrin Olympic Committee (COK) held a formal send-off ceremony in Podgorica for the delegation, which consists of 55 athletes competing across 13 different sports.

Boxer Bojana Gojković and swimmer Miloš Milenković will carry the national flag during the opening ceremony. COK President Dušan Simonović noted that the games serve as a vital testing ground for athletes as part of a broader competitive cycle leading toward the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

This marks Montenegro's fifth appearance at the Mediterranean Games since regaining independence. To date, Montenegrin representatives have secured a total of 22 medals at the event.
