Regional swimming pools in Germany begin seasonal closures

Outdoor swimming pools in the Ansbach and Neustadt/Aisch-Bad Windsheim regions of Germany are beginning to close for the season due to declining temperatures. In the Ansbach district, facilities such as the Parkbad in Herrieden and the Freibad in Lichtenau are scheduled to close on September 13. Other locations, including the Aquella in Ansbach, will remain open until September 27. In the Neustadt/Aisch-Bad Windsheim district, closures are set for mid-to-late September, with Burgbernheim ending its season on September 18.

Meanwhile, water temperature monitoring continues at Lake Constance (Bodensee). A sensor located at the Konstanz yacht harbor provides live data on surface temperatures. While summer temperatures can exceed 25 degrees Celsius, the water temperature decreases with depth, rarely staying above five degrees Celsius at the lake's deepest point of 250 meters. The lake has not completely frozen over since 1963.
