Regional teams prepare for Mediterranean Games in Taranto

National sports delegations from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia are preparing for the 20th Mediterranean Games, scheduled to take place in Taranto, Italy, from August 21 to September 3, 2026.

The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina presented its team in Sarajevo, consisting of 111 members including 76 athletes competing in 15 sports. Notable participants include middle-distance runner Amel Tuka. The delegation will feature historic debuts for the national water polo and 3x3 basketball teams. Flag bearers for the opening ceremony will be taekwondo athletes Haris Husić and Džejla Makaš.

In Belgrade, the Olympic Committee of Serbia held a meeting to coordinate logistics for its delegation. The briefing covered essential details regarding transport, accommodation, medical support, and anti-doping obligations to ensure readiness for the competition in Italy.
