Regional urban and industrial development projects launched in Spain
Two distinct development projects are moving forward in Spain to revitalize urban and industrial sectors.
In the Barri del Port, local authorities plan to tender works before the end of the year to transform a municipal building into a headquarters for neighborhood transformation. The project involves the integral rehabilitation of a building at number 31, which will house a new Citizen Service Office. This facility will serve as an epicenter for a 25 million euro neighborhood plan, providing a space for residents to access information and documentation regarding ecological transition and community projects. The renovation, budgeted at approximately 104,517 euros, is expected to last four months and will preserve historical architectural elements like the original Catalan vault.
In Avilés, the Principality of Asturias has initiated the contracting process for the first phase of the 'Manzana del Talento' (Talent Block) and Industrial Entrepreneurship complex. Located at the former Valliniello institute, the project aims to create a hub for research, technological innovation, and business development. The first phase, with a budget of 6,212,173 euros and a 20-month execution period, involves the rehabilitation of a 2,082-square-meter building and the demolition of several other structures. The complex will specialize in artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, and advanced data analysis to support sectors such as steel, energy, and aerospace.
