Regional development projects in Spain

Overview

Various regional development and revitalization initiatives have been introduced across different parts of Spain.

In Castilla y León, the Minister of Economy and Finance presented an Economic Revitalization Plan for the valleys of Alto Tiétar, Alberche, and Tierra de Pinares. Scheduled for 2027–2029, the plan targets 20 municipalities to modernize the business fabric through digitalization, increase tourism, and add value to agri-food and forestry resources.

In other regions, urban and industrial projects are also advancing. In Barri del Port, authorities are planning the rehabilitation of a municipal building to serve as a Citizen Service Office and a hub for a 25 million euro neighborhood plan focused on ecological transition. Meanwhile, in Avilés, Asturias, the ‘Manzana del Talento’ (Talent Block) project has entered the contracting phase. This industrial entrepreneurship complex aims to create a research and innovation hub specializing in artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation to support the steel, energy, and aerospace sectors.
