Regitra: 72,000 Lithuanian drivers must renew licenses
Approximately 72,000 drivers in Lithuania will need to replace their driver's licenses between October and February of next year, according to Regitra. The surge in renewals is due to the expiration of laminated licenses issued a decade ago, which were intended to be valid for ten years.
Regitra data indicates that 13,000 drivers must renew in October, 19,000 in November, 18,000 in December, and approximately 22,000 in January. Drivers aged 45 to 68 are advised to pay particular attention to their expiration dates.
Licenses can be ordered online if a valid medical certificate is held, with photos and signatures retrieved from the Population Register. Standard processing takes 15 working days and costs 17.15 euros, while expedited one-day service is available for 51.45 euros.
