Rei Pelé Stadium undergoes inspection by Alagoas prosecutors

The Public Prosecutor's Office of Alagoas (MPAL) conducted an inspection of the Rei Pelé Stadium in Maceió on Friday to monitor ongoing repair works and verify structural conditions. The visit follows reports regarding the potential closure of the stadium.

Prosecutors Dênis Guimarães and Silvio Azevedo met with the State Secretariat of Sport, Leisure, and Youth (Selaj) before inspecting completed repairs and ongoing work on ramp 2. The inspection included representatives from the Military Firefighters, the Military Police, the Alagoas Football Federation (FAF), and local clubs.

Prosecutor Guimarães stated that the works appear to be following the specific schedule established with the Public Prosecutor's Office. Prosecutor Azevedo emphasized that the primary objective is to ensure fan safety and confirm that the engineering projects, such as the shoring of ramp 2, mitigate structural risks.
