Overview
The Rei Pelé Stadium in Maceió, Alagoas, faced structural safety concerns after the Attorney General's Office (PGE-AL) issued a technical alert. Based on a report from the High Tech-Progetto Consortium, authorities recommended the preventive closure of access ramps 2 and 3 due to the risk of partial collapse of upper slabs, alongside emergency shoring and the evacuation of specific lodging areas.
In response, the State Secretariat of Sport, Leisure, and Youth (Selaj) and the State Secretariat of Infrastructure (Seinfra) implemented restrictions on high-risk areas and began emergency shoring. Following these developments, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Alagoas (MPAL) conducted an inspection of the site to monitor repair progress. Prosecutors met with state officials, military firefighters, and local football representatives to verify that engineering projects, such as the shoring of ramp 2, were mitigating structural risks and ensuring spectator safety.
