REKONSILYE demands updated electoral calendar for Haiti

The REKONSILYE platform has issued a formal request to Haiti’s Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) to publish a definitive electoral calendar by the end of October. The platform is calling for a schedule that ensures the installation of executive, legislative, and local authorities throughout 2027.

REKONSILYE expressed concerns that delays in publishing a new electoral decree have hindered preparations for the vote originally scheduled for December 13, 2026. The platform also demanded the replacement of the current voter registration system, which it characterized as ineffective, in favor of a more functional and accessible method to ensure citizens can exercise their political rights.

Additionally, the platform accused the current administration of using state resources and means for electoral purposes across various departments. REKONSILYE called for an immediate end to the use of public resources to benefit political structures affiliated with the government.
