Reliance Jio launches budget 4G prepaid plans as 5G‑free options in India

Indian telecom operators have introduced a range of prepaid recharge plans aimed at budget‑conscious users. Reliance Jio, the country's largest mobile network, now offers medium‑term 4G‑only options that omit 5G service. Notable examples include the Rs 889 plan, providing 1.5 GB of daily data, unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day for 84 days, and the Rs 666 plan with the same data allowance for 70 days, both bundled with free Google AI Pro and JioSaavn subscriptions.

Other carriers such as Airtel and BSNL continue to promote their own short‑term, mid‑term and annual bundles, with Airtel’s Rs 199 and Rs 379 plans delivering 2 GB daily data and unlimited 5G (subject to fair‑use limits), while BSNL offers a low‑cost Rs 2,399 annual plan with 2 GB per day based on its 4G network. These offerings reflect a competitive market where users can choose between high‑speed 5G bundles and more affordable 4G‑focused plans.
