Religious commemorations held for Maulid Nabi in Makassar and East Java

Various organizations in Indonesia held commemorations for Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW 1448 Hijriah on August 31, 2026.

In Makassar, the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) held a ceremony at the Masjid Raya Makassar. Melinda Aksa, Chairperson of the Makassar City TP PKK, encouraged members to emulate the Prophet's character within the family. She emphasized the role of women in supporting their husbands and serving as the primary educators for their children.

In East Java, the East Java Regional Police (Polda Jatim) conducted a commemoration at the Masjid Arif Nurul Huda. Police Commissioner Heru Budi Prasetyo stated that the event serves as a moment to reflect on the Prophet's values of honesty, trustworthiness, and patience. He noted that these principles should guide police personnel in providing professional, humanistic, and high-integrity service to the community.
