Religious commemorations held in Poland for St. Francis and Fatima relics
Various religious commemorations took place in Poland, marking significant anniversaries and the introduction of sacred relics.
In Tarnobrzeg, the Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help concluded its Fatima devotions by introducing the relics of the holy children of Fatima, Francisco and Jacinta. The event included a rosary prayer led by Father Rafał Choda and a Holy Mass presided over by Father Jan Biedroń. During the homily, the historical context of the 1917 apparitions and the importance of daily prayer were discussed.
In the Legnica Diocese, special Transitus services were held to mark the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi. These services, which commemorate the saint's passing on October 4, 1226, included readings from Scripture and letters from the brothers present at his death. The commemorations are part of a Jubilee Year for St. Francis declared by the Church.
