Religious communities in Switzerland and Italy announce October events

Various religious communities in Switzerland and Italy are preparing for significant spiritual events in October 2026.

In Switzerland, the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Sasso and the Sanctuary of the Madonna dei Miracoli in Morbio Inferiore are participating in a spiritual twinning initiative. From October 9 to 11, Morbio will host a copy of the Orselina statue. The program includes catechesis on Saint Francis and a religious reenactment titled ‘Maria e Giuseppe’.

In Corato, Italy, the Santa Maria Greca Parish is celebrating its first centennial. From October 10 to 18, the community will host a Franciscan Parish Mission organized by the Friars Minor of the Province of San Michele Arcangelo. The event, themed ‘Remain in me… open to the world’, aims to foster missionary vocation within the local community and will feature services presided over by Archbishop Leonardo D'Ascenzo and Provincial Vicar Filippo D'Alessandro.
