Religious festivals held in Giovinazzo and Manfredonia
Religious celebrations are taking place across various Italian communities. In Giovinazzo, the patronal feast in honor of Maria SS di Corsignano is underway. The program for August 19 includes liturgical services at the Concattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta, musical performances by the Gran Concerto Bandistico ‘Città di Rutigliano’, and the lighting of artistic illuminations in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II.
In Manfredonia, Archbishop Franco Moscone addressed the community during the solemnity of the Madonna di Siponto. He encouraged citizens to find hope amidst social crises and global conflicts, stating that the patronal feast should be an act of both religious faith and ‘civil realism.’ He emphasized that Marian devotion should translate into concrete responsibility, solidarity, and care for those on the margins of society.
