Religious heritage initiatives underway in Livorno and Latiano

In Livorno, the monumental reliquary of Saint Giulia, created in 1694, has been temporarily transferred from the Church of Santa Giulia to the Diocesan Museum. This move follows a significant restoration project completed last year, aimed at preserving the precious silver artifact and its historical connection to the city's patron saint.

Meanwhile, in Latiano, the cultural association ‘L’Isola che non c’è’ is calling on the Puglia Region and the local municipality to invest in the restoration and valorization of the birthplace of Saint Bartolo Longo. Marking the centenary of the saint's death, the association seeks to transform the property into a destination for religious tourism, proposing a collaboration with the Polytechnic of Bari to facilitate the recovery of the site.
