Renato Sanches leaves Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent

Paris Saint-Germain has mutually terminated the contract of Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches, making the 29-year-old a free agent. Although his contract was originally set to run until mid-2027, the club decided to part ways following a series of unsuccessful loan spells.

Sanches, a former Golden Boy winner and Euro 2016 champion, joined PSG from Lille in 2022 for approximately 15 million euros. However, persistent injuries prevented him from establishing himself in the squad, resulting in only 27 official appearances for the club.

Prior to his departure from Paris, Sanches spent time on loan at AS Roma, Benfica, and Panathinaikos. He is currently without a club as he seeks a new professional challenge.
