Renato Schifani gains coalition support for potential second term in Sicily

Political discussions in Sicily are centering on the potential second term for Regional President Renato Schifani. During the Etna Forum, key members of the center-right coalition expressed support for his candidacy. Endorsements have come from Fratelli d'Italia, represented by Ignazio La Russa, as well as Forza Italia and Lega.

Nello Musumeci, the current Minister of Civil Protection and former governor, officially ruled out a bid for a second term, stating he is no longer interested in regional politics but would support Schifani if he runs. While the coalition appears aligned, internal tensions remain within Forza Italia regarding potential alternative candidates.

Separately, in Solarino, Mayor Tiziano Spada has dissolved his municipal council following a lack of quorum in a recent council session, leading to a complete renewal of the executive team.
