Renault Geely announces R$ 2 billion investment in Brazil
Renault Geely do Brasil has announced an additional R$ 2 billion investment in the country, bringing the total planned resources for the 2025–2027 period to R$ 5.8 billion. The announcement follows a meeting with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
The capital will be used to modernize the Ayrton Senna Complex in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná, to produce a range of electrified and hybrid vehicles. Key production milestones include the Geely EX5 EM-i Super Hybrid, the Geely EX2 electric hatch starting in late 2026, and the introduction of Renault’s E-Tech 4x4 flex-fuel hybrid technology in 2027.
The joint venture, which includes a 26.4% stake held by Geely in Renault do Brasil, aims to leverage Renault’s industrial infrastructure and Geely’s electrification technology to lead the South American market. Additionally, Geely is testing a new compact electric model (codenamed E211 or EX1) designed to compete in the entry-level segment against rivals like the BYD Dolphin Mini.
