Renault announces Niagara pickup to replace Oroch

Renault has announced the Niagara, a new intermediate pickup truck designed to replace the Oroch. The Niagara was presented in Argentina and is scheduled to arrive at Brazilian dealerships in November.

Production of the new model will take place at the Santa Isabel plant in Córdoba, Argentina. Renault aims to produce approximately 65,000 units annually, with 70% of the volume intended for export, targeting the Brazilian market. The Niagara is positioned as a direct competitor to the Fiat Toro.

The Niagara lineup will include four versions, featuring a 1.3 turbo flex engine producing 160 cv and 27.5 kgfm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual or a six-speed wet dual-clutch automatic. Notably, the Niagara offers a 4x4 option with a flex engine, a feature not currently available in the primary Fiat Toro flex lineup.

As the Niagara enters the market, Renault is expected to conclude production of the Oroch at the Ayrton Senna Complex in São José dos Pinhais, Brazil, by October.
