Renault considers production of electric 8 Gordini concept

Renault is exploring the possibility of mass-producing the 8 Gordini concept, an electric sports coupe inspired by the legendary 1960s model. Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, the concept features a retro-modern design and a rear-mounted electric motor providing approximately 266 to 270 horsepower.

Brand director Fabrice Cambolive stated that while production is not yet confirmed, the company is open to the possibility. However, Renault intends to prioritize the delivery of the limited-edition Renault 5 Turbo 3E, which is expected to reach customers in early 2028, before pursuing the Gordini project.

The initiative aims to demonstrate that electric vehicles can offer emotional appeal, sportiness, and driving pleasure rather than serving merely as utilitarian transport.
