Renault cuts Alpine A390 production following low sales

Renault is reducing production of the Alpine A390, its premium all-electric crossover, following disappointing sales figures. The company plans to cut daily production at its Dieppe plant from 30 units to 15 units by the end of September 2026.

During the first half of 2026, only 1,041 units were sold across all markets, with 610 of those being in France. This performance fell significantly short of the brand's ambitions for the C-SUV segment. In August, orders dropped to just 60 units for the entire month. The model faces stiff competition in the electric vehicle market, notably from the Tesla Model Y and the electric Porsche Macan.
