Renault Group to invest over 10 billion euros in French EV development

Renault Group has announced plans to invest more than 10 billion euros in France over the next five years. The capital is earmarked for the development of electric vehicles (EVs) and the creation of more affordable car models.

CEO François Provost noted that the company has already invested 13 billion euros in France over the last five years to transition its industrial footprint toward electrification. If social and political conditions remain favorable, the new investment will continue to drive the EV segment. This follows a trend in France where electric vehicle registrations reached a record 42 percent of all new car registrations in September.

Renault expects production in France to reach 500,000 units in 2025. Driven by increased interest in electric models, the company predicts a 25 percent production increase in 2026 compared to the previous year. Additionally, the group, which includes brands such as Dacia and Alpine, plans to showcase 50 vehicles and various concept cars at the Paris Motor Show in October 2026.
