Renault hits one‑million French EV production and launches affordable hybrids in Italy

Renault announced that more than one million electric vehicles have been designed and built in France since 2010, including 600,000 at its Electricity plant in northern France. Production spans several French sites—Douai, Maubeuge, Dieppe, Batilly, Sandouville, Cléon, Ruitz, Le Mans and the Flins Refactory—employing about 39,000 workers directly and supporting roughly 35,000 jobs in the supply chain. The group has invested €13 billion in French facilities since 2021 and plans a further €13 billion under its mid‑term "futuREady" plan.

At the same time, Renault expanded its E‑Tech line for the Italian market, introducing two full‑hybrid models equipped with a 160 hp hybrid powertrain, a 1.4 kWh battery and the ability to run up to 80 % of the time in electric mode, delivering a combined range of up to 1,000 km. Prices start at €25,900 for the entry‑level Capture and rise to €33,400 for the top‑end Symbioz variant. The new hybrids aim to broaden Renault’s electrified offering and capture a larger share of Italy’s automotive market.
