Renault Kwid reaches 800,000 units produced at Brazil's Ayrton Senna plant

Renault announced that its Kwid compact hatch has hit the 800,000‑unit production milestone at the Ayrton Senna Complex in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná. The model, launched in Brazil in 2017, is built on a 1.0 L three‑cylinder engine and is priced between R$ 72,490 and R$ 91,190.

Of the 800,000 cars manufactured, roughly 60 % have been sold in the Brazilian market while the remaining 40 % are exported to 17 Latin‑American countries, including Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. The achievement was highlighted by Ariel Montenegro, president and CEO of Renault Geely Brazil, who cited the plant’s advanced technologies such as AI‑driven robotics and digital twins.

Renault also hinted at a forthcoming facelift for the Kwid, borrowing design cues from the latest Indian version, with a refreshed grille, new rear lettering and an updated three‑spoke steering wheel, alongside enhanced safety equipment.
