Renault launches new electric Twingo city car in Europe

Renault has introduced the fourth‑generation Twingo as a fully electric city car. The model is offered in two trim levels – Evolution and Techno – and is priced to be among the cheapest EVs in its segment. In Greece, the Evolution version starts at €16,490 after a €3,000 government incentive, while the Techno trim begins at €18,490‑19,990 depending on equipment. In France, the base price after the CEE “coup de pouce” subsidy is €13,310.

The Twingo is powered by an 82‑horse‑power electric motor and a 27.5 kWh lithium‑iron‑phosphate battery, delivering a WLTP‑quoted range of up to 263 km. Charging takes about 2 h 45 min on a 7.4 kW wallbox, with optional DC fast‑charging up to 50 kW reaching 15‑80 % in roughly 28 minutes. The vehicle also supports bidirectional power flow (V2L/V2G), allowing it to act as a portable energy source.

Standard equipment includes LED headlights, cruise control, a 7‑inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1‑inch infotainment screen with Google integration, and various safety systems. The Evolution trim adds features such as parking sensors, automatic climate control and higher‑grade interior trim, while the Techno trim adds keyless entry, automatic headlights and a premium audio system. Reviewers note the interior uses hard plastics but is ergonomically designed, though seats and rear‑view mirrors receive mixed comments. The Twingo competes with the Citroën ë‑C3 Urban and Dacia Spring on price and urban practicality.
