Renault ramps up Dacia Sandero output at Tangier plant for European markets

The Renault Group has turned the Tanger‑Med area in northern Morocco into a major production hub for its low‑cost Dacia Sandero. About 6,000 workers operate three shifts, and the facility delivered roughly 300,000 vehicles in the most recent year, with four‑fifths destined for export.

Finished cars travel via a dedicated rail line to the Tanger Med port and reach Rotterdam in about three days, supplying Europe—especially Germany, Italy and France. Morocco now ranks as Renault’s second‑largest manufacturing site after France and the continent’s biggest auto plant, supporting 54,000 indirect jobs. The company aims to raise local parts content from 66 % to 76 % by 2030.
