Renault reduces Renault 5 E-Tech prices and maintains physical controls

Renault is implementing significant price reductions for its Renault 5 E-Tech electric vehicle lineup, cutting prices by 1,710 euros across the model range. The entry-level Evolution 120 Urban Range model, featuring a 40-kWh battery, now starts at 26,290 euros. Notably, the version equipped with a 52-kWh battery and up to 417 kilometers of range has dropped below the 30,000-euro threshold, starting at 29,290 euros.

In addition to price cuts, the manufacturer is maintaining a design philosophy that prioritizes physical buttons and dials over touchscreen-only interfaces. Despite the higher production costs associated with tactile controls, Renault and its sister brand Dacia are retaining them to improve driver safety and ease of use. This approach aligns with updated Euro NCAP safety protocols for 2026, which emphasize the availability of physical buttons for frequently used functions to reduce driver distraction.
