Renault rolls out new GPL models and refreshes Megane E-Tech in Europe

Renault presented its latest strategy for the European market, unveiling new LPG‑powered versions of the Clio and the Symbioz in Spain with a focus on the Portuguese market. The models use the Eco‑G 1.2‑litre three‑cylinder engine, feature an enlarged LPG tank (up to 50 L usable), and are projected to save owners more than €500 annually compared with gasoline. Renault highlighted emissions benefits of up to 9 % lower CO₂, a 90 % reduction in fine‑particle emissions versus gasoline and a 96 % cut in NOx versus diesel.

Separately, Renault introduced a mid‑life facelift of the Megane E‑Tech for Europe, adding a redesigned front end and a larger 67 kWh battery that raises WLTP range to about 500 km, up from 468 km. The electric powertrain remains a 218 hp front‑motor unit. While the update is aimed at the European market, Renault noted that the model’s poor sales in Brazil – only five units registered since early 2026 – make a launch there uncertain.
