Renault to launch Duster hybrid in India on October 17

Renault India has confirmed that the pricing for the new Duster hybrid will be announced on October 17. This launch introduces the company’s ‘Hybrid E-Tech’ technology to the Indian market, marking the third powertrain option for the compact SUV alongside existing 1.0-litre and 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engines.

The hybrid system features a 1.8-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine paired with two electric motors, producing a combined output of approximately 160-162hp and 172Nm of torque. Unlike competitors that use e-CVT systems, Renault’s E-Tech utilizes a multi-mode automatic transmission with fixed gear ratios. The system includes a 1.4kWh battery pack, which is larger than the 0.60kWh batteries found in some rival hybrid models.

Renault has indicated that all current stock of the Duster hybrid has been sold out prior to the official price announcement. While bookings are temporarily paused, the company may announce a new batch based on consumer response.
